"Arbitration improves access to justice.  It enhances the likelihood of recovery.  It delivers speedier results.  It keeps costs down.  For many, it is a superior option to the expensive, slow, cumbersome ways that have come to typify our civil justice system."

Peter B. Rutledge, Columbus School of Law

Anne Ashby's wealth of experience and sterling reputation as an Arbitrator, Mediator, Judge, Prosecutor and ADR Strategist have earned her the position of a sought-after professional with a galaxy of wisdom in the arena of the law. Not all arbitrators or mediators have what Anne Ashby has...bench wisdom.  After serving as District Court Judge in Dallas County for 20 years, Ashby dovetails her insight and passion for helping others to alternative dispute resolution.  She has mediated over 196 cases from $500 to multi-million dollar cases.

Ashby's extensive experience is virtually unparalleled, with her knowledge of business and consumer litigation, copyright/trademark,  health care, government/municipal, libel, slander, defamation, personal injury, and so much more.  Ashby stands out from the rest because of her skill in communication.  She has a special sense for intuitive understanding of highly emotional disputes.  Not all mediators or arbitrators can "read" and size up a case like Anne Ashby can.  She vigorously over-prepares, rehearses her strategy and implements a plan for resolution, always sensitive to the attorneys and parties involved. She is level-headed and listens attentively.

Ashby's efficiency and perseverance were validated by the Dallas Bar Association's Judicial Evaluation Poll when she earned a 90% approval rating in 1989.  She was named Judge of the Year in 2001 by the American Board of Trial Advocates.  In 2009, the Dallas Bar Association adopted a Resolution awarding Judge Ashby for Outstanding Judicial Service.

Ashby is AV ® Preeminent ™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  She is a 27 year member of the College of the State Bar of Texas,  Life Founding Fellow of the DAYL, a Dallas Bar Foundation Fellow and Charter Member, and a Texas Bar Foundation Life Fellow. She was board certified in Family Law for 15 years by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  She serves on multiple panels of arbitrators including the American Arbitration Association's Commercial Large-Complex, Mediation, Consumer, Employment, Healthcare & Judicial Panels; Judicial Workplace Arbitrations, DII Industries Asbestos Trust, and FORUM's rosters of Neutrals. Ashby is an Advanced Credentialed Mediator of the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CiArb).
